24th June 2013

First of all, a big thank you for all of you who supported us last week with both our trip to Jodrell Bank and our visitors from OFSTED. We will receive the report back in school in the next few weeks, and you will all receive a copy, which will be sent home with your child. A copy will also be placed on OFSTED's website and our own.
ECO WEEK
This  week is eco-week in school and we have lots of exciting activities planned. On Monday morning Reef’s Reptiles are coming in to  school for a special assembly. They will be bringing a variety of interesting animals to meet us including snakes, lizards, giant millipedes and hissing cockroaches!

On Tuesday Phil Chadwick will be visiting us. Phil works for Warrington Council and will be talking to the children about reducing waste at school and at home. Phil is great at making eco-work fun and the children will have a great time working with him!

We also will be doing some junk modelling so if you could send in any old cereal boxes, plastic bottles, yogurt pots etc, we will be able to get creative with our rubbish.

Finally we will be making bug and bee hotels. For this we will need more plastic bottles and if you have any unwanted bamboo canes then they also would be very welcome!

So by the end of the week your own little eco-warrior will probably be checking very carefully to make sure that all of your recycling goes into the right bin!
SPORTS DAY
On Tuesday this week, we will be holding our annual sports day. The infants will be holding their sports in the afternoon, starting at 1.30pm. We are sure it will be an enjoyable afternoon, but we would ask, that in the interests of all of our children's safety, that you DO NOT take your children home directly from the school field. They will be escorted back to their classrooms at the end of the day, and you will be able to take them home via the usual exit.

Thank you  for your help and support.  Have a good week!
