patterns in the text.
Numeracy

finding the difference between two numbers.
Year

1-digit number to a 2-digit number and find a small difference between two
numbers by counting on
Year

add by bridging a multiple of 10 and find the difference between two numbers by

Science
This week the children will Investigate the question, which ball bounces best? (Discovery
Dog investigation)
The children will test conditions, in order to
find out which ball bounces the highest.
The children will continue to explore the concept of fair testing. I will develop this concept by allowing the
children to suggest that each ball must be dropped from the same height with
the same amount of force.
The children will be provided with a pre-drawn
recording sheet so they can present their findings.
- In
order to conclude the lesson children will be provided with an opportunity to
evaluate what they have discovered and say whether what happened was what they
expected.
Topic
This session follows
session 1 and children compare The Owl and the Astronaut with Owl and Pussycat.
The idea of travel into space is introduced and discussed – what is space like?
We discuss owl’s dreams and children write what they might dream of in space.
If the children have any
space books at home that they would like to share with their class, they are
welcome to bring them in. Please ensure that they have their name in them.
Homework will commence week beginning 15th April.
