25th March 2013

Well can you believe we have reached the end of another hard working term? For some of you, your child only has one term let in the infants, before they venture over the other side of the hall - but don't worry! There is still lots to do in KS1 before they start the transition, and they are more than ready for the next stage in their learning journey.

This week, we will be completing our assessments of the children, and also there  are lots of activities planned in the run up to Easter. Of course, as we are in school during Holy Week, there will be a focus on understanding the Easter Story.

It would be helpful if you were able to go through this with your child at home beforehand. A copy can be found at http://www.topmarks.co.uk/christianity/easter/easter.htm

Monday

·         completing assessments and making notes about the Easter story to help us with our writing

·         checking our multiplication and division facts for 2,5 and 10 times tables

Tuesday

·         Easter Gardens - Juniors

·         Egg rolling in the afternoon - please remember to hard-boil them first and then decorate them. Also, please remind your child that they will be thrown away afterwards

Wednesday

·         Preparations for the Easter Service

·         Phonics assessments

Thursday

·         9.00am Easter Service. You are very welcome to join us, but please remember that space is limited in the hall

·         The afternoon sees our annual Easter Bonnet parade, which the children all love! Please send the bonnets in on Thursday morning only, as we have limited space to store them in school

Many thanks for all your support over the last term, particularly those of you who have been commenting in your child's diary when you have heard them read. It really does make a difference.

Have a very happy and Holy Easter, and we will see you when we return after the holidays.
